The future of Vitor Roque has become a hot topic this month, especially after Palmeiras’ renewed interest in the player.

Recent reports have suggested that the Brazilian outfit are hopeful of signing the forward, who is currently on loan at Real Betis, this month, taking into account that the transfer window in Brazil does not end until February 28.

Real Betis rule out Roque transfer

That being said, Mundo Deportivo now claims that Real Betis have made a final decision of not allowing Roque to leave the club this month.

It appears the Verdiblancos are keen on retaining the services of Roque at least until the end of the season and won’t let him leave in the middle of the campaign.

Roque joined Real Betis on a one-year loan deal, with an option for an additional year, while the club also have the option to purchase 80% of the player’s rights for €25 million in the summer.

However, it has been recently revealed that Real Betis will not exercise that option, meaning Roque will most likely return to Barcelona in the summer.

Real Betis, in fact, have signed Cucho Hernandez from Columbus Crew as a potential replacement for Roque.

Despite that, it appears Manuel Pellegrini’s side does not want to part ways with the Brazilian in the middle of the season.

The player’s entourage has also dismissed the possibility of a return to Brazil midway through the current season.

Barcelona, for their part, are open to every possibility as the club desperately look to get rid of the forward. A February move to Palmeiras, to that end, would have been an ideal outcome.

But with a Palmeiras move ruled out this month, it will be interesting to see whether or not the Brazilian outfit plot a summer move.
