The respective boards at La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid will need to wait a little longer for confirmation of the plans of Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah beyond next summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Monday provided an update on the situation.
The name of defender Tah has of course long positioned itself front and centre in the media headlines across Spain.
This comes as the 28-year-old, long held in high regard across the continent, inches ever closer to becoming a free agent upon the expiration of his contract at Bayer Leverkusen.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are considered two of the three frontrunners to strike a deal for Tah, alongside Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich.
As of yet, though, the stopper himself has remained tight-lipped when it comes to his intentions.
And, as per a report from Mundo Deportivo, this comes owing chiefly to the fact that he is yet to reach a final decision on his next club.
Whilst Tah has long made the call to depart the BayArena, he will not make his many suitors aware of his plans for next season until the new year, between January and February.
