Barcelona seem to be resigned to losing young La Masia prodigy Unai Hernandez, who has emerged as a top target for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad in the current window.
The 20-year-old Unai, the captain of the Barça Atletic team, had been tipped for a bright future at the club given his potential and talents.
However, with his current contract expiring in the summer and there being concerns on the player’s side about a potential lack of first-team chances, he has seemingly opted to move on this window.
Former Barça director Ramon Planes, now at Al-Ittihad, has convinced the youngster to make the switch to the Middle East, with the move expected to be finalised this week.
As such, Fabrizio Romano reports that Al-Ittihad have sent their formal bid to Barcelona to sign Unai Hernandez this month.

The transfer expert states that the offer from the Saudi Pro League club is worth €4-5 million and that the negotiations between the two clubs are underway and the operation is in advanced stages.
Unai, 20, has been called up to train with the senior team by Hansi Flick on a number of occasions this season.
There was even talk of him being promoted to the first-team setup once his contract renewal was finalised, much like with Marc Casado last year.
However, it appears that the La Masia talent and his camp have decided to take on a new adventure in Saudi Arabia, where he has been promised a first-team role as well as a hefty salary.
Following the formal bid being sent, Al-Ittihad will now take further steps required to close the deal for the Spanish attacking midfielder.
