Barcelona star Lamine Yamal sits high on the list of players with the most ground duels won in Europe’s top-5 leagues across the season to date.

That’s according to statisticians Squawka, who have on Monday provided an insight into the figures.

Wide-man Lamine, for his part, is of course in the midst of a stellar campaign to date, giving rise to 27 direct goal contributions in 35 appearances across all competitions.

The 17-year-old’s brilliance, though, goes so far beyond simply his end product.

As much is evidenced by the fact that Lamine has emerged triumphant from 168 ground duels in La Liga this season, the 2nd most of any player in Europe.

Leading the way, just two clear of Barcelona’s wing sensation, is Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimarães, with 170.
