A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has made clear to boss Hansi Flick his readiness to feature from the off in the club’s upcoming showdown with Inter Milan.
That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Robert Lewandowski as the player in question.
Frontman Lewandowski was of course the headline inclusion in Barcelona’s travelling squad bound for Milan early this week.
This comes after the Pole recovered from a recent spell on the sidelines, just in time to secure a place back in Hansi Flick’s party for the 2nd leg of their Champions League semi-final tie.
Speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference, Flick admitted, though, that Lewandowski would only be well enough for the bench.
And yet, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the 36-year-old himself appears to have different ideas.
As per a report from Relevo:
‘”He wants to be a starter,” they say from his home country. No one in Poland rules out Robert starting. In fact, several of the journalists Relevo has spoken to have confirmed that Lewandowski himself has told Flick that he’s ready to start.’
The final decision is now with the Blaugrana’s headmaster, albeit with Ferran Torres, as things stand, still considered the favourite to feature from the off at San Siro.
