The board at La Liga leaders Barcelona are ready to demand a formal explanation from the CTA, over their disallowed goal against Real Sociedad over the weekend.
For those who may have missed it, a VAR call sparked widespread chatter at Anoeta late last night.
This came after what looked set to be a Robert Lewandowski Barcelona opener was ruled out for offside.
Ensuing images of the incident, however, saw it widely concluded that those in charge of checking the goal mistook the foot of Sociedad defender Nayef Aguerd for that of Lewandowski, therefore making an incorrect offside call.
The decision ultimately cost Barcelona dear, on their way to an eventual 1-0 defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad.
In turn, it should not come as a major surprise to hear that the Camp Nou brass are not prepared to simply move on from the situation.
Instead, as per a report from Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana have requested an explanation from the CTA (The Technical Committee of Referees for the RFEF) regarding what exactly the process culminating in their disallowed goal entailed:
‘The club has stated that its intention is not to express indignation with the refereeing at Anoeta, but simply to find out how the semi-automatic offside actually works.’
