Giovanni Fabbian’s excellent form at Bologna this season could result in a return to former club Inter Milan in the coming months.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, and via FCInterNews.it, the 22-year-old has impressed sufficiently at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara this term to earn links with a move back to Inter, having been sold by the Nerazzurri in 2023.
Fabbian came through Inter’s youth academy system and enjoyed a positive loan spell at Reggina in Serie B in 2022, before coming close to a switch to Udinese two summers ago.
However, that deal fell through and Bologna moved in, with Fabbian hitting the ground running to help the Rossoblu secure a Champions League qualification spot last year, as well as guide them into fourth place in the Serie A table this season.
As part of the €4 million agreement to send him to Bologna, Inter retain a buyback option that remains valid and can be triggered for €12m.
With the Nerazzurri looking for attacking midfield options, he remains a possibility although it is reported that he is happy at Bologna and in no rush to leave.
