Carlos Augusto feels that the criticism that Inter Milan receive when they lose gets blown out of proportion.
The Brazilian spoke to Italian outlet DAZN, via FCInterNews, after this evening’s Serie A win over Fiorentina.
It has been a tough few days for Inter Milan.
The Nerazzurri suffered their heaviest defeat of the season – and their first by a three-goal margin since 2019 – against Fiorentina on Thursday.
That result came as a big blow to Inter’s Serie A title ambitions.
And beyond that, it was a loss that led to some reignited doubts about the Nerazzurri’s ability to cope with the pressure of competing for trophies on all fronts.
But Inter were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to respond immediately this evening.
By coincidence, the Nerazzurri were up against the same opposition as they had been just four days ago.
And this time around, it was a much different match.
Naturally, Inter’s victory this evening has changed the mood a lot.
It is not a result that erases the effect of Thursday’s loss to Fiorentina. The Nerazzurri are still chasing Napoli in the Serie A table.

But there is a sense that Inter have reasserted themselves and made Thursday’s match look like a mere blip.
“Today,” said Inter wingback Carlos Augusto, “we should that we’re a group.”
The Brazilian added that “I’m happy for Marko [Arnautovic].” Arnautovic scored his first Serie A goal of the season, winning the match for Inter.
“The players who don’t play as much still work hard in training during the week. He deserved the goal.”
Meanwhile, Carlos Augusto called Thursday’s loss to Fiorentina “a match where we weren’t ourselves.”
“It’s normal for us to criticize us. Because we’re a strong team.”
“When we don’t show that, then everyone wants to talk badly about us.”
“Today, we showed our strength again,” Augusto hit out.
