Celtic were looking to put Dundee to the sword when the teams squared off at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday but the match was called off due to the storm damage at Parkhead after the stadium was battered by winds up to 90mph.
The match was sandwiched between two vital UEFA Champions League matches for Brendan Rodgers’ side so there was always the risk that the focus would have been on BSC Young Boys and Aston Villa and that could have worked to Dundee’s advantage.

Now however as confirmed by Celtic FC on Saturday morning the re-arranged match will take place at Celtic Park on Wednesday 5th February.
And not only will Celtic be free from Champions League duties for a short while at least but this night will also be the first chance that the new signing coming into Celtic will have their chance to receive a big Celtic welcome from a delighted support. That will be led by Jota, the player the Celtic call their Superstar from Portugal, and there could be a few more.

So Dundee could be facing a more focused Celtic squad and one that is also stronger than would have been the case on Saturday as the winds of change blow through Celtic Park but this time it could cause considerable damage to Dundee.
Sitting comfortably at the top of the table, Brendan Rodgers’ side is overwhelming favourites on the list of football betting sites heading into their matchup with Dundee.

Before the Dens Park side visits Celtic Park Brendan Rodgers takes his team on the road to Villa Park looking for a first away Champions League win and then to Fir Park to take on a Motherwell side who are at the moment managerless after Stuart Kettlewell resigned due to severe abuse he was receiving from the Motherwell support. Kettlewell seemed to be doing a very good job so talk about shooting yourself in the foot, Motherwell fans.
The Bhoys have a superior head-to-head record against Tony Docherty’s side having registered 11 wins in their last 12 meetings. Dundee visited Celtic Park just under a year ago where the Champions claimed an emphatic 7-1 victory on a day of humiliation for the Dark Blues.
Anything other than a Celtic win would come as a big surprise but Dundee will fancy their chances of an upset having put three past Rodgers’ side in their most recent meeting at Dens Park.
Who will come out on top in this Scottish Premiership fixture? Let’s assess both teams before diving into a prediction!

Celtic are truly superior to all their opposition in the Scottish Premiership, as the table suggests. Rodgers’ side has once again been dominant this season and a 55th league title looks a certainty come mid-April.
The Bhoys have been an unstoppable force at their home fortress, seeing off opponents with relative ease and scoring goals for fun while remaining rock-solid in defence.

Though their goals have come from all over the pitch, Daizen Maeda, Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah are their main goal threats but the Celtic midfield has been scoring well this season, none-more-so that the Celtic captain Callum McGregor.
Keeping the forward trio quiet has proven to be difficult for opposing teams and of course Dundee have the added concern about Jota being available to pick-up where he left off after the 2023 Scottish Cup Final win over Inverness Caley Thistle.

Given their form, league position, head-to-head record and quality, new signings coming in, everything points to a comfortable win for Celtic. At the time of writing, Rodgers’ side is on a seven-match winning streak at home, netting 23 times without shipping a goal.
Dundee have performed reasonably well this season as they look to improve on last season’s sixth-place finish. The Dees are currently in eighth position in the Scottish Premiership, but have a game in hand. The bad news is that this game in hand is the trip to Celtic Park.

With Celtic well ahead and theRangers in second quite far in front of the rest, a top six finish seems the most realistic objective for Tony Docherty’s side, while an unlikely victory over the reigning champions will not only serve as a morale booster for the squad but would propel them into the mix for a top six finish alongside the likes of St Mirren, Hibs and manageress Motherwell.
On the other hand a defeat at Celtic Park for Dundee would suit Hearts who endured a dreadful run of results amid poor form at the start of the season but slowly but surely have got their act together and have drawn level on points with Dundee as things stand.

Dundee of course came agonisingly close to beating Celtic in their last meeting. A 78th-minute goal from Aaron Donnelly looked to have sealed a memorable win for the Dees but a penalty from Arne Engels in stoppage time saw the game end in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
Having won 11 of their last 12 meetings with Dundee, Celtic are confidently backed to secure a comfortable win. For more value, you can take the Scottish champions to win both halves.
