Carlo Ancelotti hails ‘heavily criticised’ Real Madrid star after performance vs Man City | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has moved to reveal his appreciation for the latest efforts put forth by Aurélien Tchouaméni.

This comes after the Frenchman was again forced to line out in an unfavoured role on Tuesday night.

Amid the ongoing defensive personnel crisis in Real’s ranks, Tchouaméni was again tasked with taking his place at the heart of Los Blancos’ backline.

And, to his credit, the former AS Monaco man went on to enjoy a fine performance, en route to a 3-2 Champions League victory at Manchester City.

Amid circumstances far from ideal, Tchouaméni and Raúl Asencio stood tall, to guide Los Blancos one step closer to the competition’s Last-16.

With the former having been the recipient of heavy criticism on the part of fans and the media alike across the season to date, Carlo Ancelotti, post-match, was therefore keen to highlight the level of Tchouaméni’s display.

“The heavily criticised Tchouaméni had an amazing game while playing out of position,” Ancelotti reiterated.
