FC Bayern received prominent congratulations with special certificates of honour from the Bavarian Football Association (BFV) and Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV) to mark the 125th anniversary of the German record champions. BFV president Dr Christoph Kern presented his association's congratulations to the executive committee led by president Herbert Hainer, Professor Dr Dieter Mayer and Walter Mennekes at the match against VfL Bochum at the Allianz Arena. Jörg Ammon, president of the BLSV, took advantage of the club‘s 125th anniversary celebrations at the Paulaner Nockherberg. The certificate was accepted by eV management Benny Folkmann and Kiki Hasenpusch.

“FC Bayern sets benchmarks not only in sport but also in its treatment of its members,“ said Kern. “That makes me all the happier to be part of the FC Bayern Munich Honours Day in celebration of the 125th anniversary, recognising long-time members for up to 70 years of membership. As the Bavarian Football Association we also congratulate, of course – to all those honoured and, first and foremost, to those responsible at FC Bayern Munich for 125 years of success. Of course, this is no accident, but the result of hard work and passionate commitment at all levels of the club.”

FC Bayern has a huge impact in both men's and women's football and beyond sport, Kern continued: “Clubs like FC Bayern and associations like the BFV have a social responsibility. During the Holocaust memorial days, I was at a panel discussion in the Church of Reconciliation at the Dachau concentration camp memorial, where Herbert Hainer made it clear that FC Bayern has always stood for cosmopolitanism and diversity, which made us very proud as the Bavarian Football Association.”

BLSV president Ammon also congratulated “FC Bayern on its birthday: this is not only a reason to celebrate for the sports club with the largest number of members in the world, but also for Bavarian sport as a whole.” The club reflects “pure sports club values: passion, success and professionalism in its sport and at the same time a social dimension of togetherness and support. Not least in the past years of crisis, the Bavarian sports club world can be grateful for this! Here's to many more years, FC Bayern!”
