Chelsea loanee Đorđe Petrovic among nominees for Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the season | OneFootball

The French players’ union, the UNFP (Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels), have announced their nominees for the 2024-2025 awards. Chelsea loanee Đorđe Petrović (25) has been nominated among the finest goalkeepers in Ligue 1 as the Serbian international has proved a hit with BlueCo-owned RC Strasbourg. Liam Rosenior’s Alsatians are still on course to qualify for the UEFA Champions League with only three games to spare.

Petrovic’s name has been thrown into the hat alongside PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, Lyon’s Lucas Perri, Lille’s Lucas Chevalier and Marseille’s Geronimo Rulli. Away from Chelsea, Petrovic has flourished under the tutelage of Rosenior, and the former Hull City FC manager would be very tempted to keep working with the Serbian goalkeeper. “I love working with him and hopefully somehow we can still collaborate in the future. Whether it’s here or elsewhere in five years, I’d like it to be next season“, Rosenior said.

Petrovic is not the only Chelsea player loaned out to Strasbourg in search of individual honours. Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos is among the nominees for the best young players in Ligue 1, a category headlined by PSG’s Désiré Doué and João Neves. Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi and Monaco’s Eliesse Ben Seghir have also been nominated.
