Chelsea have reportedly made contact to bring in a new candidate for a Head of Football role at the club, a new position they are making.

This news will excite Chelsea fans, many of whom have grown fed up with the way things are run by the current sporting directors. Would this hire make any difference at all to that though? Only time would tell.

Chelsea beat Southampton 4-0 on Tuesday night in what was a much needed convincing performance, with goals coming from Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, Levi Colwill, and Marc Cucurella.

The Saints were a very poor opposition of course, but Chelsea really needed a big win and a big performance, and that is exactly what they did last night right in the nick of time as they look to keep challenging for that all important Champions League spot.

Neto was superb playing as the number 9 and as well as getting his goal, he has explained why he loves playing as a striker with a hilarious answer!

But Blues fans know that the recent slump cannot be ignored, and a new hire at the top would be a welcome change.

Campos to Chelsea?

Journalist Duncan Castles has claimed Chelsea have made contact with PSG’s Luis Campos.

He says:

‘Chelsea’s Clearlake Capital ownership group have contacted Luis Campos. They would like him to come in as a Head of Football, not simply at Chelsea, but for the entire multi club group.

‘I’m told, there have been two meetings, the most recent of which took place in Monaco, to assess whether he’d be interested in coming to work for them.

‘I’m told that Campos is open to that idea. He’s interested in what’s been happening in European football generally, with this model of having a head of football or a chief executive of football in multi club ownership groups.’
