Chelsea face Legia Warsaw in Poland tonight in the first leg of their Europa Conference League quarter-final.
Enzo Maresca has his sights on silverware in his debut campaign, with the Blues strong favourites to lift the trophy next month. Chelsea have recorded eight consecutive European wins to reach this stage with ease. The Blues are bidding to become the first team to have lifted all three current UEFA competitions, after winning both the Champions League and Europa League twice.
Their opponents are enduring a mixed campaign domestically, but recorded an upset win over Real Betis earlier in the competition. After a top-eight finish in the league phase, Legia beat Molde over two legs to reach the last eight.
Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Filip Jorgensen will start in goal as the Chelsea coach continues to rotate his shot-stoppers.
Wesley Fofana will not play again this season after undergoing hamstring surgery, while Romeo Lavia’s injury-hit time with the club has continued with another setback. In more positive news, Marc Guiu – who has scored six goals in the Conference League this season – is nearing a return.
The West Londoners are set to recall Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill, Marc Cucurella, Pedro Neto and Nicolas Jackson to the starting side after all were partially rested at the weekend.
Chelsea predicted XI: Jorgensen; James, Badiashile, Colwill, Cucurella; Fernandez, Caicedo; Madueke, Palmer, Neto; Jackson.
Legia Warsaw host Chelsea in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday April 10th 2025. Kick-off is 17:45 BST.
Legia vs Chelsea will be available to watch on TNT Sports 1 and Discovery+ UK.
