Matchday Live will once again have a stellar lineup of guests on our broadcast for the Barclays Women’s Super League Manchester derby.
City lock horns with Manchester United on Sunday 19 January with kick-off for the first heavyweight bout between the sides in 2024/25 set for 19:30 (UK).
Gareth Taylor’s side won each of our three meetings with our cross-city rivals last term, but only one point separates the Blues in second and Marc Skinner’s side in fourth heading into the latest encounter.
It all points to an enthralling night under the Etihad lights and tickets can be purchased here.
For such an occasion, Toni Duggan and Steve Howey will join presenter Natalie Pike in the Matchday Live studio to provide analysis before, at half-time and after the full-time whistle.
Duggan, a member of our maiden professional team, enjoyed an illustrious spell with the Blues – making 75 appearances in all competitions and scoring 34 goals between 2014 and 2017.
What’s more, she helped City to four major honours, including two League Cups, the FA Cup in 2016/17 and the 2016 Barclays WSL title.
Joining her in the studio is Matchday Live regular Howey who made 103 appearances for the Club and was a key member of the team who won the First Division title (now Championship) in 2001/02.
Matchday Live will be a fixture of our comprehensive coverage of the Manchester derby on the Official Man City App.
Starting 90 minutes before kick-off, our Matchday Centre will provide detailed text updates, stats and analysis carrying on throughout the game and after the final whistle.
Those with push notifications turned on will be alerted to all the key moments, with Nick Walsh and Karen Bardsley also guiding you through the action from the press box with live audio commentary.
A detailed match report plus reaction from Gareth Taylor and a player will be made available soon after the full-time whistle.
Highlights from the game and a CITY+ full-match replay can then be accessed from 12:00 (UK) on Monday.
