Conte discusses Leao and Milan-Napoli: “An important test against a top club” | OneFootball

Antonio Conte and his Napoli will take on AC Milan away from home on Tuesday evening, hoping to continue their positive trend. However, as the manager highlights, it won’t be an easy clash.

Napoli won their game against Lecce yesterday and are thus at the top of the standings with 22 points. Milan, meanwhile, are in seventh place with 14 points albeit with a game in hand as the Bologna one was postponed.

Speaking at the press conference after the game, as transcribed by TMW, Conte also shared his thoughts on the encounter with Milan. He made it clear that it won’t be an easy game for the Partenopei, and that Rafael Leao is a player they cannot afford to give any space.

“It’s an important test against a top club, we’re going to San Siro with the right mentality. The team has shown great maturity, but at San Siro it’s not a walk in the park for anyone.

“Leao? He’s a player who breaks games, if you give him space it becomes difficult. But Milan is not just Leao, we want to prepare ourselves as best as we can and we only have Monday. Now let’s enjoy this victory and from midnight we will think about Milan,” he stated.

Of course, it’s not even certain that Rafael Leao will start as Paulo Fonseca has been very impressed with Noah Okafor in the last few weeks.

The last time Conte was at San Siro was with Tottenham, when Milan won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Brahim Diaz. It remains to be seen if the Italian will be victorious this time, certainly entering the game with a lot more confidence.
