Both teams have scored in six of Bournemouth’s last seven Premier League matches and in nine of Crystal Palace’s previous 10 league home games.
Only Mohamed Salah (10) has scored more Premier League goals in 2025 than Jean-Philippe Mateta (9).
Crystal Palace is picking up momentum at just the right time. Oliver Glasner’s side, who failed to win any of their opening eight Premier League contests this season (five losses and three draws), are unbeaten in five, winning four of those matches with the only blemish being a 1-1 draw at relegation-threatened Southampton. Sitting level with Liverpool in the form table when looking over the past five matchdays (both teams accumulating 13 points from 15 available), the Eagles have found themselves within touching distance of breaking into the top half. Since returning to English top-flight football in 2013, their best placement is 10th, achieved on two occasions under Alan Pardew (2014/15) and Glasner last season (2022/23). Right now they are two points behind ninth-place Bournemouth.
It’s starting to unravel for Bournemouth, who are still getting over their FA Cup quarter-final elimination. Between November 2024 and January 2025, they proved hard to beat, winning seven of their 11 league matches—including an emphatic 5-0 success over Champions League-chasing Nottingham Forest—with the other four ending in draws. A 0-2 home loss to Premier League champions-elect Liverpool was quickly forgotten with a 3-1 success at south coast rivals Southampton, but the wheels soon came off. The Cherries, who at one point sat a point outside the top four, are currently enduring a six-game winless streak (four losses and two draws). It has dropped them to ninth and they are in danger of being dragged into the bottom half.
Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucouré are long-term absentees for Crystal Palace after both sustained knee injuries. Riad isn’t expected back until January 2025, while Doucouré could feature at the start of next season. Edward Nketiah and Marc Guéhi will have returned following their respective suspensions, while there’s no return date for Maxence Lacroix and doubts remain over Christopher Richards’ availability.
Enes Unal will not be available for Bournemouth until next season after he underwent knee surgery. Marcus Tavernier and Justin Kluivert could be available for this contest as they have missed out recently due to respective injuries. However, there is no return date for Luis Sinisterra and Ryan Christie, with both currently being assessed.
Crystal Palace will be looking to end a three-game winless streak against Bournemouth (two losses and one draw) after winning five of their previous six meetings in all competitions (one loss).
