City’s Premier League 2 quarter-final clash with Arsenal has been confirmed for Saturday 3 May.

Ben Wilkinson’s Elite Development Squad will welcome the London outfit to the Joie Stadium for an 18:00 (UK) kick-off.

City’s youngsters progressed to the second stage of the play-offs after a tense 2-1 win over Liverpool in extra-time.

Divin Mubama gave City the lead with a close-range finish on 19 minutes. Tommy Pilling drew the Reds level on 68 minutes.

Despite tired legs beginning to show, City continued to fight and our hard work paid off when Mubama tapped home on 107 minutes.

Arsenal’s route to the quarter-finals was also a tight affair. After finishing eighth in the PL2 league phase, they faced ninth-placed Newcastle.

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji gave the Gunners the lead from the penalty spot before Scott Bailey levelled the playing field.

Another spot kick on the brink of full-time, this time converted by Khayon Edwards, meant Arsenal squeezed into the quarter-finals.

Saturday’s encounter with Arsenal is our first meeting with them this season, with the Gunners one of the five teams we didn’t face in the 20 Gameweeks.

The winner of Saturday’s quarter-final will face Manchester United or West Ham.
