David Beckham has revealed he broke his back while playing for LA Galaxy in the United States.
The former England captain and Manchester United great left Real Madrid to join LA Galaxy in 2007.
He remained at the MLS outfit until 2012, leaving twice during his five-year stay for two short loan spells with Italian giants AC Milan.
Beckham bowed out from his playing career when he retired at Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.
He has since focused on his modelling career as well as acquiring stakes in the ownership of now-League Two side Salford City and becoming president and co-owner of the MLS side Inter Miami, who were founded in 2018 and regularly play against his former team LA Galaxy.

Now, in an interview with Men’s Health UK, Beckham has opened up about the time he suffered a broken back while playing for Galaxy.
“I actually broke my back,” he recalled. “I was living in LA and cracked my spine.
“I had pain after a game, I went for a scan and couldn't find anything wrong with it. I was insisting there was something not right there — I could feel it.
“So, they injected me with dye, and then it came up. It was a bad one.”
Remembering another injury he suffered, the 49-year-old, born in London, added: “I broke my wrist in South Africa and I still get issues with it.
“I was told that it was a dissolvable screw. It turns out it wasn't, so I've still got it.”
