An insight into the length of the contract awaiting incoming Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso at the club has on Friday been provided.

The name of tactician Alonso has of course dominated the headlines in Spain across the day to date.

This comes after the former midfielder finally announced his decision to depart Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season.

Speaking during a press conference this afternoon, Alonso admitted:

“It’s time to confirm these will be my final games at Bayer.”

Alonso’s call to move on, of course, comes with a view to completing a dream move to Real Madrid this summer, where he will act as the replacement for the outbound Carlo Ancelotti.

And as alluded to above, on Friday, an insight into the terms of the contract awaiting Alonso at the Santiago Bernabéu has been forthcoming.
