Eintracht Frankfurt make contact to sign Ritsu Doan | OneFootball

Even if Freiburg qualify for the Champions League, it’s unlikely that Ritsu Doan (26) will remain at the club beyond the summer, according to Bild.

Eintracht Frankfurt have shown an interest in signing the Japan international and have already made contact but are not expected to make an official approach until after the season. Per the report, die Adler are ready to offer between €15m and €18m, but Freiburg want close to €25m.

However, a potential stumbling block for Eintracht Frankfurt is that teams from England and Italy are showing an interest in signing Doan and would be willing to pay a higher fee than SGE.

Doan has been a standout performer for Julian Schuster’s Freiburg this season with 17 goal contributions (nine goals and eight assists) in 31 Bundesliga games, which has attracted attention from Europe’s top clubs.

It would also appear that Freiburg have identified a replacement for Doan with the Baden-Wurttemberg closing in on the signing of Cyriaque Irié from Troyes for a reported €10m.
