Bild reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are already planning their summer business and are looking for a winger who is similar to Arjen Robben.
Die Adler is well stocked in the striker position after the winter arrivals of Michy Batshuayi and Elye Wahi and will now turn their attention to other areas of their squad that need upgrades.
This also means Frankfurt may not pursue Jonathan Burkardt. Hugo Ekitiké is firmly seen as the number one striker at Deutsche Bank Park, and the winter arrivals mean there is currently little need for a striker. If neither Batshuayi nor Wahi does not impress, a striker could be pursued in the summer.
One area is that Frankfurt are lacking a threat from the wing. The desire is for a player similar to Arjen Robben who can cut in from the right-hand side and be a goal threat. There are said to currently be four players on Frankfurt’s internal list that fit this criteria. Left-wing could also be an area that is improved upon.
Midfield could also be upgraded. Frankfurt are one of several clubs interested in Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller, the 18-year-old has also attracted interest from Southampton, Celtic and Udinese.
Finally, there is doubt over the right-back position. Frankfurt are unwilling to pay the €15m buy option in their loan agreement for right-back Rasmus Kristensen. If Die Adler are able to reduce the fee to €10m then he could potentially stay, but parent club Leeds are unwilling to lower the price. Highly-rated youth international Elias Baum is planned as Kristensen’s backup, the full-back is currently on loan at Elversberg.
