Former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been linked with the vacant Feyenoord managerial position, according to a report in the Netherlands.
Ten Hag has been out of a job since he was sacked by United at the end of October. The former Ajax boss was routinely spotted at grounds dotted across Europe in the wake of his dismissal. Borussia Dortmund were heavily rumoured to be interested in the 55-year-old before ultimately appointing Niko Kovac on an 18-month deal.
Yet, Ten Hag's three-month spell in the wilderness may have come to an end. Dutch publication AD are one of several outlets to report that Feyenoord are considering the three-time Eredivisie champion as a permanent replacement for the sacked Brian Priske.
Priske is an odd case. The well-respected Danish coach was appointed after Arne Slot joined Liverpool in the summer and steered Feyenoord into the knockout stages of the Champions League - a feat that neither Slot nor any other boss in the club's history can top.
Feyenoord's general and technical director Dennis te Kloese explained Priske's sacking as a result of "too little structural progress".
"As a professional and as a person, I still hold Brian in high esteem," Te Kloese continued. "However, sometimes you have to conclude that, despite everyone’s good intentions, things are just not working out, and you have reached a point where there is not enough support to continue forward together."
It remains unclear whether Ten Hag will be willing to take over Feyenoord, who are also considering his former Manchester United assistant coach Rene Hake.
