The striker has been ruled out for a number of weeks with an ankle injury sustained over the weekend during the win over Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Haaland collided with Lewis Cook, attempted to continue playing but was soon forced off.
A statement from City issued on Monday evening confirmed Haaland would see seen by a specialist, and the "expectation" was that he would return to action before the end of the season, including the inaugural summer Club World Cup, which begins in June.
Asked for a further update on Tuesday afternoon, Guardiola said of Haaland's injury: "The doctors told me between five and seven weeks, so hopefully at the end of the season and World Cup he will be ready."
The new timeline rules Haaland out of the FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest, scheduled for the end of April, and makes him a significant doubt for the FA Cup final, on May 17, should City progress.
The final day of the Premier League season falls on May 20, which Haaland is also a doubt for, with the start of the Club World Cup in June appearing to be a more realistic target for a return.
