The winter transfer window has closed, and for now, Alexander Isak remains with Newcastle United. While there wasn’t much buzz about a potential move in January, reports indicate that several clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, could make another attempt this summer.

RMC Sport previously reported that PSG was considering a swap deal, offering Gonçalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani, and Marco Asensio to land Isak in Paris.

Liverpool has also been linked to the Swedish striker. Sky Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri shared that the club had already started discussions with his representatives. The Reds were reportedly preparing a significant bid and were even willing to depart from their usual transfer approach to sign the 25-year-old forward.

Newcastle is said to have set Isak’s price at €180 million (£150 million), which would make him Liverpool’s record signing, surpassing the £85 million they paid for Darwin Nunez in 2022.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided the latest regarding what’s expected this summer on Isak who is drawing interest from many clubs, but Newcastle remain firm on their stance to hold onto the player.

“They want to keep Alexander Isak at the club, that’s the message from Newcastle,” said Romano (h/t TEAMtalk). “But I keep telling you that big, big, massive proposals will come to the table for Isak.

“Arsenal will be there, they want Isak. [Benjamin] Sesko is the other name on the list, but for sure Isak and Sesko are the two main names.

“Liverpool are also there for Isak, they’ve already made some contact with people close to the player. So both clubs are interested in Isak. For Arsenal he’s the absolute top target, for Liverpool he’s one of the names they’re considering in that position.”
