RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško was reportedly on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar during the summer transfer window as they looked for a new goal-scoring option following Kylian Mbappé’s departure.
The Slovenian forward, who is contracted to Leipzig until 2029, had a standout 2023-24 season, netting 18 goals and providing two assists in 42 appearances.
PSG considered several options at striker over the summer, but sporting advisor Luis Campos ultimately chose not to pursue a new No. 9.
Šeško has continued his strong form into the 2024-25 season, with 11 goals and three assists in 23 matches across all competitions. His decision to stay at Leipzig is clearly paying off.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the 21-year-old, who attracted interest from Arsenal and Chelsea in the summer, is not expected to move next month. However, a transfer in 2025 is still a possibility.
“There are really many, many clubs keen on Sesko,” Romano said (h/t The Mirror). “It could be more than five clubs. But it’s not a topic for January, the Sesko case will be open again for the summer and that’s when the real suitors can emerge with concrete talks. At this stage, nothing is advanced with any club yet.”
According to Philipp Hinze of Sky Sport Germany, Šeško has a “gentleman’s agreement” with RB Leipzig, which would allow him to leave next summer if an offer between €70 million and €75 million comes in.
