Peter Sucic is in Milan to finalize his future Inter transfer already, and his former coach Nenad Bjelica, who also managed Spezia in the past, shared his thoughts on the signing and what the fans can expect from him to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He’s a pure talent and will have a nice career with the Nerazzurri. He runs relentlessly, at least 13 kilometers per game, and knows how to do everything in the midfield: deep-lying playmaker, box-to-box, and no.10. He’s a gifted jack-of-all-trades.”
Inter will pay €14M plus add-ons for Sucic.
“It’s a bargain considering price tags nowadays. He’s a top player and guy. I’ve only coached him for eight matches, then he got hurt, and we started losing and drawing. He was key to us. He provides a great deal of balance, and he is a great cutter. His third virtue is his stamina. He bagged three goals while I was at the helm, including two in the Champions League.”
Bjelica drew a comparison with a current Inter player.
“He resembles Nicolò Barella. He’ll be at ease in a three-man midfield. I’ve fielded him as a regista, but he’s at his best as a box-to-box. He has something of Marcelo Brozovic too, but he’s more offensive-minded and can score more. He loves to do that, especially with channel runs from afar.”
Sucic has also been likened to Davide Frattesi.
