Frankfurt ‘firm’ on €100m price tag for Chelsea target | OneFootball

Eintracht Frankfurt are prepared to hold firm on their €100m valuation of Hugo Ekitike, amid interest from the Premier League.

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Ekitike, joining Liverpool in pursuit of the French forward.

The 22-year-old’s outstanding season with Frankfurt has attracted notable interest from England. In 2024/25, Ekitike scored 22 goals in all competitions and provided 12 assists, helping Frankfurt secure Champions League qualification.

The German side do not want to sell Ekitike and are prepared to play hard ball on his price tag. Frankfurt value the forward at €100m (£83.8m) and Sky Germany are reporting that the club will not allow Ekitike to leave The Waldstadion unless that asking price is met.

Chelsea have made Ekitike a top transfer target as the West Londoners look to bring in a forward to compete with Nicolas Jackson. Christopher Nkunku is set to leave Stamford Bridge after a frustrating period, leaving the Blues short of attacking depth.

Ekitike signed for Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain on an initial loan deal before the transfer was made permanent for €16.5m fee last summer.

He impressed in partnership with Omar Marmoush over the opening months of the season, before becoming Frankfurt’s leading man following Marmoush’s mid-season exit for Manchester City.

This season, Ekitike ranks in the top five percent of forwards across Europe’s top five leagues for progressive carries, successful take-ons and chances created per 90 minutes.

Despite the club securing Champions League football for next season, he is understood to be open to leaving Frankfurt in search of a new challenge this summer.
