Since departing AC Milan in the summer, Yacine Adli has found a new lease of life. Now, Fiorentina are already considering making his loan move permanent.
Adli’s time at Milan is challenging to evaluate because his role fluctuated heavily at the end of his spell. Under Stefano Pioli he never got a look in, but during the Rossoneri’s injury crisis, the Frenchman was given minutes.
Those minutes began to form into a regular starting place, and before too long he was seen as a big piece of the squad. However, Paulo Fonseca did not see the situation in the same way.
Instead, it was deemed that Adli did not have a place within the squad as the Portuguese head coach saw an exit as a better move for all parties, and so far, it can be argued that this was the right decision.
Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) write that the midfielder has been ‘revalued’ in Florence, and the fans already love him. He is ‘a pawn more capable than others’ in Raffaele Palladino’s team, and if trends continue then he would be purchased at the end of the season for €10 million.
Looking to the Rossoneri, Fonseca has rarely looked away from the partnership of Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders, and it is unlikely the Frenchman would have solidified himself as the side’s Trequartista.
A move that suited all parties? It seems increasingly so.
