GdS: ‘Here’s the offer’ – Milan and Inter take decisive step in ‘new San Siro’ project | OneFootball

Inter and AC Milan have announced that they have filed the famous DOCFAP with the City Council, the project feasibility document for the construction of the new stadium.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport writes, it is a document that is over 300 pages and is essentially the proposal from the clubs to acquire the current San Siro and surrounding areas. A meeting scheduled for tomorrow with Mayor Beppe Sala has therefore been cancelled.

The step is essential to arrive at the purchase of the area in July, before the constraint on the second tier of San Siro comes into force. The filing arrived a week later than expected, due to the latest discussions between clubs on some strategic points of the document, such as break clauses.

In the document, the two clubs speak of their desire to build ‘a cutting-edge stadium, part of an urban regeneration project, in the name of innovation, sustainability and accessibility’, ‘a project that will represent an international benchmark and will bring significant benefits to the city of Milan and the Milanese citizens’.

It is too early to understand what the facility and the new area will look like in detail. The final concept and the executive project will be presented at a later date. What is certain is that the new facility will be built in the area currently reserved for parking.

What will happen to the current San Siro? It will be demolished with around one quarter of it remaining. The south-east portion will remain standing, with part of the Curva Sud, one tower and part of the orange stand.
