Hansi Flick provides Robert Lewandowski injury update before Barcelona vs Benfica | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on the wellbeing of star attacker Robert Lewandowski.

This comes amid confirmation that the Pole was recently forced to deal with a minor fitness concern.

Barcelona are of course primed to return to action on Tuesday evening.

Turning attentions back towards matters on the continent after seeing their La Liga fixture against Osasuna postponed owing to the passing of Dr. Carles Miñarro Garcia, the Blaugrana will lock horns with Benfica.

The aforementioned Robert Lewandowski, for his part, was a last-minute omission from the Barca squad which was due to face Osasuna.

And, speaking during his latest pre-match press conference on Monday, Hansi Flick provided an insight into exactly why:

“Lewandowski had some discomfort on Saturday during the activation training session and that is why it was decided to give him a rest.”

Lewandowski since trained as normal alongside his teammates earlier today, therefore expected to feature from the off against Benfica tomorrow evening.
