Manchester City suffered a host of fresh injury concerns during their 2-1 Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham. One of them was Brazilian international Savinho. The dynamic winger went down during the second half of yesterday’s match with what appeared to be a serious ankle injury. As Savinho was stretchered off the pitch it looked like he had suffered a serious ankle injury. But now reports have emerged that City may have dodged a bullet in regards to the seriousness of the injury suffered by the Brazilian.

Romulo Giacomin has reported via X that the ankle injury suffered by Savinho isn’t serious. Furthermore, Giacomin reports that Savinho is set to undergo tests on the injury today. Giacomin adds that those tests will reveal the extent of the injury Savinho sustained.

If Giacomin’s report is correct then Manchester City may have dodged a bullet in regards to the injury sustained by Savinho. It did appear that the Brazilian would be out for an extended period of time when he went off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. But the new report indicates that the injury isn’t as bad as it appeared. That is positive news for the champions.
