The photo that Newcastle United fans had all really really wanted to see on Sunday.

A long old afternoon at St James’ Park.

An afternoon that would decide whether or not Newcastle United finished top five.

Most importantly, whether NUFC would get Champions League football via finishing top five.

All kinds of permutations on this final day with five Premier League clubs chasing three Champions League places.

A win for Newcastle over Everton would guarantee top five and Champions League.

A draw at St James’ Park could still see United top five, if one or more certain results went their way elsewhere.

Whilst United could even possibly get Champions League if they lost to Everton, though that would be pushing it……

Anyway, here is the photo that all Newcastle United fans wanted to see on this final day of the season at St James’ Park.

The Newcastle United Head Coach introduced this tradition of a post-match everybody included photo (in the dressing room usually) following each victory, as he felt it had worked as a bonding exercise when he was at Bournemouth.

Well after 29 victories this season, today’s glorious brilliant lush photo was after Newcastle United lost!

However, this one above is an everybody included (players, coaches, backroom staff etc etc) on the pitch qualifying for the Champions League photo!!
