Al-Ittihad striker Karim Benzema (37) has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s (40) claims he is the greatest football of all time. The former France international followed in the Portuguese’s footsteps in joining the Saudi Pro League, six months after Ronaldo terminated his Manchester United contract to sign for Al-Nassr. Away from the spotlight of European football, Ronaldo and Benzema continue to bang in goals for fun. The former Real Madrid teammates are level at the top of the league’s goalscoring charts with 16 goals.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Benzema has given his opinion on whether he thinks the 5-time Ballon d’Or was worthy of being labeled as the GOAT. “I believe everyone can say what they want“, said the Al-Ittihad centre-forward. “If he thinks he is the best in history… then he is.” The Frenchman said a lot of players could enter the GOAT debate. The Lyon Academy product had reminded that, for him, the best player ever was Brazilian striker Ronaldo.
