If Chelsea can’t agree terms with Jadon Sancho they will pay £5m to send him back to Manchester United according to Ben Jacobs.
The Blues signed Sancho on an initial loan deal from Manchester United last summer with an obligation to buy for around £25m if they finished above 14th.
The obligation has been activated but Chelsea are still yet to take a final decision on Sancho’s future, and there’s a chance he could be sent back to United.
Chelsea are said to be in talks with the agents of Sancho and the 25-year-old will need to take a pay cut in order to fit in with the wage structure if he wants to remain at Stamford Bridge.
Sancho came off the bench to score in the Conference League triumph against Real Betis on Wednesday night, but has endured a mixed season in West London.

The 25-year-old has managed just three goals and five assists in 31 Premier League appearances, whilst he fared better in the Conference League with five assists and two goals in eight appearances.
Sancho has been criticised for his form, and Jacobs has now provided an update on the situation and what will happen if Chelsea can’t agree terms.
“If Sancho and Chelsea can’t agree terms, they’ll return him to Manchester United for a £5m penalty fee and then we have to wait and see because I don’t think it’s as clear cut as Garnacho and Rashford,” he told The United Stand as cited on X.com.
“There could be a way of Sancho being reintegrated at Manchester United if he’s returned.”
Chelsea have other names on their list and have been linked with both Nico Williams and Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.

Chelsea are said to “love” Gittens and he’s thought to be open to a switch to the Premier League, with the England under-21 international scoring 12 goals for Dortmund as they once again qualified for the Champions League.
Williams has been described as a “dream” target and the Spain international has a €58m release clause in his current deal, but is thought to want wages of around £400,000.
