Napoli are preparing to test Manchester United’s resolve with an improved proposal for Alejandro Garnacho.
It’s a transfer saga that Ruben Amorim will likely be hoping is wrapped up swiftly, as he’s set to be left with bare-bones in attack when Antony’s move to Real Betis is completed – even more so if Marcus Rashford completes his expected transfer elsewhere.
Amorim’s stance on Garnacho’s prospective exit as a whole is unknown. As for INEOS’, it’s thought that they won’t actively push him out of the door but would accept a bid this month if their valuation – in the region of £60 million – is met.
The youngster, on the other hand, is said to be ‘keen’ on the prospect of plying his trade elsewhere due to the uncertain role he’s had to adjust to under the new boss, having started only four of the 11 Premier League games since Amorim’s tenure began.

This evening, journalist Attilio Malena shared a fresh update regarding the Serie A leaders’ pursuit of Garnacho, writing: “Antonio Conte wants only him, and Napoli will do everything to please him. New contacts [will take place] in the next few hours for Alejandro Garnacho. [Napoli have] reiterated a desire to overcome the £50m wall by inserting some more bonuses to Manchester United.”
The Italian giants have only just sanctioned the exit of star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain, prompting the board to target the Georgian’s successor and have them at Conte’s disposal as quickly as possible.
Should United accept whatever bid comes their way next, reinforcements will be vital for Amorim throughout the second half of the term. The club are currently doing their utmost to hash out a deal for left-back Patrick Dorgu, so any attempts to sign an attacker may be on the back burner until negotiations are complete.
