Inter and Napoli fixture list compared: turning points in Serie A title race

Napoli have caught Inter at the top of the Serie A table, so with five rounds left to play, the odds on who wins the Scudetto are also neck and neck, with bets being placed on needing a play-off.
The Nerazzurri lost 1-0 at Bologna in stoppages to a Riccardo Orsolini scissor-kick volley, while Napoli squeezed past rock bottom Monza 1-0 at the weekend.
It means after 33 rounds, the two clubs are in a dead heat on 71 points apiece.
The Serie A rules mean that if a pair of sides are level at the top of the table, they must go into a single play-off to decide the trophy, rather than be separated by head-to-head record or goal difference.
This is a thrilling scenario with only five rounds left to be played this season, as we could see the first Scudetto play-off since Bologna beat Inter 2-0 in 1964.
Fans are flocking to betting sites to put their money where their mouth is and gamble on the Serie A title odds, as well as getting casino bonuses to further boost their chances of winning big.
Inter had been the outright favourites to win the Scudetto, and that is still the case for most sites, but by a very small margin now.
Some of the betting sites even put Napoli and Inter neck and neck when it comes to odds of title victory, reflecting how remarkably close the race really is.

It is arguable that the Partenopei under Antonio Conte have the upper hand now, seeing as their only focus is on securing Serie A triumph and they can spend all week preparing for these matches.
On the other hand, Inter are stretched thin, having reached the Coppa Italia semi-final in a Derby della Madonnina against Milan, plus the Champions League semi-final over two legs with Barcelona.
They are the only Italian team still left in three tournaments at this stage of the season and could feasibly win their second Treble, having already achieved this hat-trick of silverware under Jose Mourinho in 2010.
When looking at the remaining fixtures, Simone Inzaghi’s side have to host Roma, Verona and Lazio, while their away games are at Torino and Como.
Napoli’s run-in sees them welcome Torino, Genoa and Cagliari, with trips to relegation-threatened Lecce and Parma.
The pressure doesn’t end there, as Inter are also preparing to participate in the Club World Cup in the United States of America in June and July.
This means Inter are not only running for the treble, but even for something more meaningful.
“I should’ve corrected myself again and said Quadruple, because we’re in the running for the Club World Cup too at the end of the season,” Inzaghi said in March.
“The only idea in our minds is to make our fans happy by trying to honour every single game. It is not easy, but these lads have great spirit, we want to take it one game at a time.”
The Nerazzurri will be visit Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League semis on April 30 and host the Catalans in the decider one week later, on May 6, at San Siro.
