Behind the scenes, Inter Milan are annoyed by all of the talk of the Serie A title race with Napoli being “must-win” for them.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908.

There has been a lot of pressure on Inter Milan to defend their Serie A title this season.

And that’s not really much of a surprise at all.

The Nerazzurri didn’t just win the title the last time around. They did so in dominant fashion, nearly twenty points clear of their closest rivals.

Then, there’s the fact that Inter kept the core of last season’s squad together in the summer.

That undeniable strength as a team has led to talk that Inter Milan “must win” the Serie A title.

A failure to do so would carry the tag of a major underachievement. Meanwhile, winning the title again would simply carry the tag of doing the bare minimum.

But for Inter, nothing is taken for granted.

The Nerazzurri feel that they have real competitors for the title. And that they always do.

The likes of Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli, and Atalanta all spent big last summer and then in the January transfer window.

Therefore, Inter feel that the other big teams should face just as much pressure to win.
