Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi worries about the challenges Young Boys’ artificial pitch could cause to his injury-hit squad.

During his pre-match interview with Prime, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri boss discussed various topics, including a growing injury crisis at Giuseppe Meazza.

The reigning Scudetto holders will take on their Swiss counterparts in a ‘David vs Goliath’ UEFA Champions League clash later this evening.

After taking four points from the opening two rounds, Inter head into proceedings as odds-on favorites to conquer the Stadion Wankdorf.

However, it will be a rare occasion for the Nerazzurri to perform on a synthetic pitch.

Despite this new setting, Inzaghi’s men cannot afford to drop points tonight.

Young Boys commenced round three nailed to the bottom of the 36-team table after two disastrous results.

Indeed, following a 3-0 home loss to Aston Villa, Barcelona trounced them 5-0 on matchday two.

But they’ve since changed their manager, appointing Joel Magnin as a caretaker boss.

Magnin is no stranger to the club as he led them to the Swiss Super League title last term.

Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi Issues Warning Ahead Of Young Boys Clash

“Clearly, we take it game by game. We know we played well on Sunday, on a difficult pitch and against a strong team,” Inzaghi said.

“Here, there will be challenges, on an artificial pitch, against a team that won the championship, changed their coach, and won against Luzern. A team in good form.

“The artificial pitch? We’ve never faced that in the Champions League, but we knew it from the draw. We specifically did our final training here,” he continued.

“Injury emergency? We’ve had problems in the same position, and we’ll evaluate Zielinski today.

Calhanoglu and Asllani won’t be available, nor will Buchanan.

“But those who are here will contribute, including the two Primavera players.”
