Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that Udinese striker Lorenzo Lucca is “a great player.”
The Nerazzurri coach spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, ahead of this evening’s Serie A match against the Friulani. He also gave his thoughts on picking the starting eleven.
Inter Milan take on Udinese in Serie A this evening.
And the Friulani will hardly be a straightforward opponent for the Nerazzurri on their return from the international break.
Udinese are an organized, physical team. And they’ve shown that they can get results against the big teams for several seasons now – including Inter,
The player who Inter may well be marking out as Udinese’s danger man is striker Lorenzo Lucca.
The former Ajax and Pisa striker has been in outstanding form this season.
Lucca has used his formidable height and strength to great effect. He has provided both goals and a real focal point in attack for the Friulani all season long.

Lorenzo Lucca in fact got on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture between Udinese and Inter.
And Inter coach Simone Inzaghi said that “he’s a great player.”
“He’s in good form. And not just in the last little while.”
“He’s been doing well for a long time at Udinese,” Inzaghi said of Lucca.
“Today we’ll have to watch out. They have a lot of dangerous players.”
“He’s a great player who’s doing well and not just since today, he’s been doing well for a long time at Udinese. Today we’ll have to be careful, they have a lot of dangerous players.”
The Nerazzurri coach stated that “it will be a very important match.”
“Against a team with quality, who have caused problems for us the last two times that we’ve met them.”
“It will be the same thing this evening as well,” Inzaghi said.
And as far as the starting eleven this evening, Inzaghi said that “we need to make tough choices.” The likes of Marko Arnautovic and Davide Frattesi are among the players to start for Inter this evening.
“Today I made some decisions, keeping in mind that Barella and Bastoni were coming off the back of two ninety-minute matches with the national team.”
“Then, we also have some players absent. So the rotation options are a bit limited.”
With Davide Frattesi among the starting eleven, Inter coach Inzaghi gave his thoughts on the Italy international.
“We all know the importance he has,” said the Nerazzurri.
“Now he’s doing well after he had some physical problems. Those had held him back.”
“He had done very well when he came off the bench in Bergamo against Atalanta,” Inzaghi said. “Today, he’ll give us a big hand.”
“He, Mkhitaryan, and Barella will all have to do so,” said the Inter coach.
Then, Inzaghi also updated on the injury situations in the Inter squad. “We’re evaluating it day by day,” he said.
“I wouldn’t just talk about Lautaro and Dumfries,” he added. “Taremi is also unavailable, and de Vrij is available on the bench although he’s noit at his best.”
“It’s an injury crisis,” said the Nerazzurri coach. “So we have to grit our teeth more than ever.”
Inzaghi anticipated that this evening’s match against Udinese “will have a lot of duels.”
“We have to play well technically,” added the Inter coach. “We’ve prepared at our best, despite having some big players missing.”
“We have fewer options for rotation. Some players came back from the international break a bit leggy.”
“Today I made the best choices for the match,” said Inzaghi.
