SImone Inzaghi has won praise for his clever change of formation in yesterday’s Serie A clash between Torino and Inter Milan.

L’Interista highlight the positive scores that the Nerazzurri coach received in the player ratings for the match.

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi had to work around a couple notable injuries in yesterday’s Serie A clash with Torino.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Davide Frattesi were both unavailable.

Meanwhile, the likes of Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu were in the squad. However, Inzaghi hardly wanted to take any chances with the fitness of either after Tuesday’s match against Barcelona.

That left Inzaghi with few options in midfield. Accordingly, the Inter coach decided to play Nicola Zalewski in midfield.

But Inzaghi did not simply stick wingback Zalewski into midfield and hope for the best.

Rather, the Inter coach changed the team’s tactical approach.

The likes of Kristjan Asllani and Piotr Zielinski both played in a deeper central midfield role.

Then, Zalewski played as a more advanced midfielder. He played in behind Mehdi Taremi along with Joaquin Correa.

The Polish international played in advanced positions in the left-hand channel. He also would go over to the right, however, enjoying a fair bit of freedom to interchange with Correa.

This meant that Inter always had plenty of numbers in attack. And it also got the best out of central midfielders Asllani and Zielinski.

Therefore, it proved to be more than just an emergency solution from Inzaghi. The Nerazzurri coach proved that he could really get the best out of his players even in a tricky situation.
