Fiorentina and Italy star Moise Kean published several screenshots of racist messages received on Instagram after the Tuscans’ 2-1 defeat against Inter on Monday.
Italy striker Kean received racial abuse on social media Monday night following his team Fiorentina’s 2-1 loss against Inter at San Siro.
The 24-year-old shared screenshots of insulting direct messages he received and then posted one final Instagram story, writing: ‘It’s still happening in 2025.’

Insults came from users apparently supporting both Inter and Fiorentina.
Both clubs reacted on social media, showing support for the Italian striker.
“The club express their support for Moise Kean, who was subjected to severe racist attacks on social media following the match against Inter in Milan,” Fiorentina wrote on X.
“The perpetrators of these actions have been reported to the relevant authorities.”
Inter shared Fiorentina’s social media post and commented: “For the values that define our history, we have always stood against all forms of discrimination. We, therefore, stand alongside Moise Kean and Fiorentina in condemning the attacks the Viola striker has been subjected to.”
Kean has scored 15 goals in 23 Serie A matches for Fiorentina, averaging 0.7 goals per 90 minutes. He has also provided two assists, bringing his total goal contributions to 17.
Only Atalanta star Mateo Retegui has scored more goals than Kean in Serie A this season. The ex-Genoa forward has netted 20 times in 21 league games this term.
Fiorentina’s next game is at home against Cesc Fabregas’ Como on Sunday, February 16. Kean joined Fiorentina from Juventus last summer and his contract at the Stadio Franchi expires in June 2029.
