Manchester United fans are expecting to see a host of players offloaded this summer to both create space and raise funds for new acquisitions.
Among the all-but-confirmed outgoings will be Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton, all of whom are out of contract this summer and are yet to be offered fresh terms from the club. Harry Maguire and Amad Diallo were also originally on the list, but the former had his one-year option activated while the latter was awarded a new deal entirely.
The senior quartet have enjoyed relatively successful spells with United overall, particularly Evans – a three-time Premier League winner with United – after he completed his silverware collection by adding an FA Cup winners’ medal to his cabinet last year.
Eriksen, 33, has already been linked with several sides since it became clear this would be his final season at Old Trafford. With bundles of experience in the English top-flight, Serie A and Eredivisie to his name, he’d certainly make a quality addition to a European side in need of that little bit of midfield quality on the ball – especially given that he’ll be available for nothing.

Reflecting on his time in the Premier League – initially with Tottenham Hotspur from 2013 to 2020 and then again with United since 2022 – Eriksen told club media: “I’ve liked the challenges. Before I came [to England] it was like, ‘Oh, he’s a skinny guy from Denmark and Ajax’. I think I’ve proved that any player can compete in the Premier League if you’re good enough. It’s been fun.”
The veteran was then pressed on his recent achievement of surpassing 300 appearances in the division, responding: “I’m very proud. Obviously, it’s been a lot of years to get to that point. But I’m proud of any game I’ve played in the Prem.”
