TZ München reports that Jamal Musiala will miss Bayern Munich’s first game back on Saturday evening after the winter break through illness.
Bayern had announced earlier on Thursday that Musiala misses training through illness, but no timeline or any further information was given. It is reported that Musiala will join Josip Stanišić, Hiroki Itō, João Palhinha, Daniel Peretz and Sacha Boey on the sidelines for their trip to Borussia Park on Saturday to face Borussia Mönchengladbach.
The plan is for Musiala to then return to training after the game on Saturday and be fit in time for their game against Hoffenheim next Wednesday.
The 21-year-old had also missed Bayern’s warmup friendly against Red Bull Salzburg with a mild cold, which has seemingly worsened.
Historically, Gladbach has proven to be a bogey team for Bayern, with die Fohlen having a resurgence and now the absence of Musiala, Bayern’s best player this season and most influential, could produce another banana skin for Bayern.
