Ben Foster recently said that Jamie Vardy could sign for 15 different Premier League clubs. Above them all, Newcastle United is the obvious choice.
For Leicester City fans, this marks the end of a chapter, and a huge chapter in the club's history. Sure, it's the end of the Foxes' short stint back in the Premier League but much more importantly, it's the end of the Jamie Vardy era.
Yeah, we never thought we'd have to say that, and frankly, it still feels unbelievable. Seeing the greatest player to ever represent Leicester play for a different club will feel bizarre, to say the least.
The term "once a Fox, always a Fox" is only half true. Granted, he will always be recognised as a Leicester player no matter where he ends up, but the key factor is that he will end up somewhere.
There is more life in Vardy, but where will he end up?
Well, Ben Foster chimed in on the conversation but found it equally as difficult as fans to pinpoint one club. Foster said on his podcast, the Fozcast, that "Jamie Vardy genuinely... could sign for probably 15 Premier League teams."
One club that Foster went on to highlight is Newcastle United, which is a club that many people would name. It seems like the most natural segue for a player like Vardy.
Vardy is a real fan favourite and, frankly, a working-class hero. As a club with a real down-to-earth and family feel to it, the Magpies would welcome Vardy with open arms, and he'd get on with the club culture like a house on fire.
Of course, Jamie Vardy probably wouldn't be the main man at Newcastle United. However, at this stage of his career, he wouldn't mind the reduction in minutes. If the Magpies qualify for the Champions League, then Alexander Isak might stay, after all.
However, the appeal of playing for Newcastle, while playing under Eddie Howe, will be an incredible opportunity for Jamie Vardy. Of every Premier League club, Newcastle feels like the most natural option. That's if Vardy is to even choose a Premier League side, of course.
