Sport understands that Jean-Clair Todibo’s (25) move from OGC Nice to West Ham United has already been made permanent.

Todibo made the move from Nice to West Ham at the start of the season on a loan deal that included an obligation to make the loan permanent in the event of the club securing its place in next season’s Premier League. With the relegations of Southampton, Leicester City, and now Ipswich Town confirmed, that obligation clause has been triggered, according to a report from Sport.

That fee is worth €42m, however, not all of it will go to Les Aiglons. When selling the Frenchman to Nice, Barcelona included a healthy percentage of any future sale. The La Liga side will therefore pocket 20% of the aforementioned fee, meaning that they will receive €8.4m in the operation. The fee is a big boost for Barcelona, who continue to face considerable economic difficulties.
