João Felix’s impressive debut for Milan already feels like a distant memory, as the Portuguese forward’s form has gradually declined, casting doubt on the prospect of a permanent transfer from Chelsea at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old made an immediate impact after joining the Rossoneri on loan in the closing hours of the January transfer window, scoring his first goal for the club in his debut match against Roma in the Coppa Italia.

However, he has since struggled to build momentum, with the team’s difficulties seemingly affecting his performances, as he has failed to register a goal or assist in the six matches that followed, despite starting on each occasion.

While João Félix has expressed a desire to remain at Milan beyond his loan spell, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that it is difficult to imagine the Rossoneri making an investment to keep him at San Siro, given his poor contributions so far.

The Diavolo signed the Portugal international on loan without an option to buy, and Chelsea’s demands for a permanent transfer are expected to be high, having paid €52 million to secure his services from Atlético Madrid last summer.
