Juventus are said to have ‘booked’ a move for Hellas Verona’s young centre back Diego Coppola. The 2003 born defender is said to have been a long term favourite of Cristiano Giuntoli who is the director of football at the Turin club.

This information has been revealed by L’Arena (via TMW). A deal between the clubs feels quite likely to be reached in the summer. Verona have a great relationship with Juve as demonstrated in the move of left back Juan Cabal from Verona to the Old Lady in the summer.

Coppola is deemed to have a market value of €10 million and it seems likely that he could move to Juventus for a fee of around €12 million. His current contract at Verona will keep him at Venetian club till 2027. Known for his physicality as well as defensive anticipation and aerial prowess, Coppola has other eyeballs on him as well, including those at Inter. His performances have stood out even further as his club sit in mid table, at the 14th position, only 4 points ahead of the relegation zone.

The 21 year old has come through the youth system at Verona, making his Serie A debut for them back in 2022. He has represented Italy across age groups and has most recently turned out for the Under-21 side. He is without a doubt on the radar of the national team manager Luciano Spalletti. This weekend saw Juventus beat Verona 2-0 in the league, a match that was dubbed as an audition for Coppola.
