Dusan Vlahovic’s Final Juventus Push Doubles as Premier League Audition

Two Roads, One Destination

It begins not with a roar, but with a sigh. A sigh of resignation, of tired conflict, of gloves lowered in a fight both sides no longer have the will to win. Dusan Vlahovic and Juventus are no longer adversaries. Not in public. Not now. As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, both striker and club have reached a temporary armistice: an agreement to co-exist until the end of the season, each quietly mindful that the divorce is coming.

On one side, Juventus face the mounting burden of a €12 million annual salary that becomes active from July. On the other, a striker who won’t budge on a pay cut and hasn’t exactly lit Serie A on fire this spring. His performances have dulled, his place taken — temporarily — by Randal Kolo Muani. And with every missed minute, the stakes rise. Less football equals less form, less attention and less market value.

Reboot Under Tudor

Enter Igor Tudor and the “recovery operation”. A managerial change brings with it the opportunity for re-engagement, for Vlahovic to once again lead the line and remind onlookers — and more importantly, scouts — of his worth. The motivations are aligned. Juventus need goals. Vlahovic needs suitors.

“The club needs their top scorer to perform at his best, and the Serbian needs to rediscover his best version to earn attention in the transfer market.” That is the equation now driving their awkward but necessary truce.

London Calling, Tyneside Listening

Vlahovic’s destination, according to Gazzetta, is effectively pre-determined. “Given the size of his salary… Vlahovic’s future destination can only be a rich club, excluding Saudi Arabia, which he is not interested in.” In clearer terms: the Premier League, yes; Saudi Pro League, absolutely not.

Arsenal had already considered him in January following Gabriel Jesus’s injury and may revisit the idea in the summer. Newcastle United — facing the potential exit of Alexander Isak — are quietly watching. Manchester United, whose only double-digit scorer this season is Bruno Fernandes with 16 goals, need help. And Chelsea, who reportedly considered Vlahovic briefly during talks for Renato Veiga in January, may also return to the conversation, even if they still lack a genuine, elite striker.

As Gazzetta put it, “Every goal Vlahovic scores will prompt English clubs to exchange messages with their coaches.” He’s not bad, that Dusan Vlahovic.

Strategic Separation

This isn’t a dramatic farewell. It’s pragmatic. Juventus hope to recoup €40–45 million from a summer sale. Vlahovic, still just 24, seeks a platform to relaunch his career rather than rebuild it. He wants a move with ambition, prestige and a role that suits his attributes.

He is not staging a revolution. Nor is he walking away in anger. This is a mutually beneficial arrangement: to perform now, and part ways later. Juventus preserve his value. Vlahovic advertises himself to the highest bidder. Somewhere in between, there’s clarity.

For Premier League clubs looking for power, youth and goals — all wrapped in top-level European experience — the time to strike may be approaching.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

From an Arsenal, Newcastle, Manchester United or Chelsea perspective, the noise around Vlahovic raises familiar questions. Is this the real deal, or another case of inflated value?

Arsenal already have a fluid attack. Does Vlahovic offer the movement and technical link-up Mikel Arteta’s system demands? He’s a finisher, yes — but so is Gabriel Jesus, when fit.

Newcastle might see him as an Isak replacement, but he’s not as versatile. And would Vlahovic really thrive in Eddie Howe’s pressing setup?

Manchester United fans have seen plenty of high-profile forwards fail to adapt. Is he the proven goalscorer the club craves, or just another gamble in a red shirt?

And Chelsea? Their recent record with strikers — from Lukaku to Falcao — hasn’t exactly inspired confidence. Would Vlahovic solve anything without the system to support him?

There’s potential, undoubtedly. But in England’s demanding, transitional top flight, raw potential isn’t enough. Clubs want impact. Vlahovic must prove he’s more than a promising name from Serie A. He must show he’s Premier League-ready.
