In tough conditions away from home, Yannawit Khantharat’s side started strongly going against the wind.
Kenningwell broke the deadlock with just over half an hour played, with a long-range strike giving the hosts the lead.
They doubled their advantage in stoppage-time as a corner found its way into the back of the net.
Playing with the breeze in the second 45 minutes, Brentford came out of the break aggressively as they searched for a way back into the game.
The Bees pulled one back on 65 minutes, Lillie Elsbury threading the ball through the backline to Chelsie Berry, who continued her strong form this season with a goal.
As the game entered the final 10 minutes, Khantharat’s side continued to push forward as they searched for an equaliser.
On 89 minutes, Alicia Henry crossed the ball from the right side to Berry, who pushed forward curled into the top left corner of the goal to take the tie to a shoot-out.
The match went to penalties following the referee’s full-time whistle, setting up a cracking finish.
Elsbury stepped up and scored the first penalty, Elle Payne following suit with the second.
Despite three-straight misses, the Bees remained in the game thanks to Walker's heroics in goal, the keeper saving three penalties.
That left Henry with a chance to secure the victory and the defender stepping up and coolly slotted her spot-kick.
“It was amazing and an entertaining game. The girls worked really hard and tried to do what we have been practicing,” Khantharat said post-match.
“The weather and the pitch made it very difficult to play, but they played really well building out from the back.”
